Adorned with Sleeves

Adorned with Sleeves

What does it mean to be adorned? That is the question I posed to myself in creating this new collection, and one of my favorite adornments for wedding dresses are sleeves! They can be such a beautiful detail, and there are so many possibilities, from softly draped, to long and fitted, to flowing and ethereal. In some cases, a removable sleeve gives our bride the best of both worlds. She can wear them for the ceremony, take them off for dancing, put them on when it gets a little chilly, or any combination of scenarios to suit her desires. The Adorned Collection is just that...embellished, opulent, and breathtakingly beautiful. I believe that on their wedding day, more than any other day in life, our brides should be adorned with a wedding dress that expresses who they are to their core, and adorns them in pure beauty. Read on for just a few of the endless possibilities... Aquamarine Claire Pettibone Adorned Couture Wedding Dress Collection Aquamarine Claire Pettibone Adorned Couture Wedding Dress Collection The Aquamarine strapless sheath is a stunner on her own. A softly structured bodice with a sheer window framing the décolleté, tiny seed pearls beaded along this intricate aqua, ivory and metallic gold embroidery, and pretty silk buttons down the fitted back leading to an epic cathedral length train. To add just a bit more drama and detail, the elegant long sleeves. This pair are separate so that hugging, dancing and movement are not restricted, and our brides can decide when and where to don this sheer pouf to fitted style. For brides who love a strapless look, but want this romantic touch, this gown is a dream! A sheer back, gorgeous embroidery, and a sexy slit (or not, it you'd prefer a classic silk skirt), this wedding dress was named after the Morganite gemstone. Did you know that this gem was only discovered fairly recently (by gem standards) in 1911? It was named after J.P. Morgan, one of the most important jewelry collectors of the early 1900's. Due to its soft pink hue, this gem is often associated with love and romance, and so it seemed the perfect name for this dress. The French embroidery has the palest blush pink flowers with ivory and silver vines and leaves trailing along the bodice and skirt made of sheer tulle. Draped off the shoulder, and embellished with spun silver Guipure lace, this dress, along with the entire Adorned Collection, will be available for our 2023 brides. A blooming flower neckline, and the open low back lead to a fitted waistline to accentuate those pretty curves. The flowing skirt is hemmed with crinoline and lined in silk charmeuse. These removable sleeves are so angelic! And perfect if your ceremony requires covered shoulders (or you just love the look). I could even see them adapted for a veil...so many possibilities to make this gown unique to you. And our floral hair pieces in collaboration with Erin Rhyne make the perfect accessory for the hair. Above, is our Forget-Me-Not Vine with periwinkle blue blossoms and green sculpted leaves and below, is the Primavera Vine with clusters of blush blooms, berries and leaves all sculpted by hand in Erin's studio. Each piece is a work of art designed to pair with our gowns. Not only will these flowers stay fresh all day for your wedding, but they become a beautiful heirloom to cherish for years to come. This dress has a whimsical, bohemian flair, and classic beauty...the best of both worlds, and so many opportunities for beautiful bridal portraits. Speaking of portraits, our glam squad for this shoot led by Kelly De Serio for Ted Gibson on hair, and Amanda Gabbard leading makeup, created some gorgeous wedding day inspiration. I always feel it's best for our brides to play up their individuality by keeping the makeup and hair soft and romantic. Your wedding day is forever, so trends aren't really relevant - it's more about being true to yourself, and just being the most beautiful version of you.
